Abstract
A chemical transport model (CTM) is a numerical model that predicts and represents the three-dimensional spatial distribution of air pollutants, including aerosols, by considering various physical and chemical processes. In particular, the model for urban to regional scales is called a regional chemical transport model (RCTM). This paper briefly describes studies that have been conducted by combining RCTMs and lidar observations from the three viewpoints of" comparison and validations"," analysis of seasonal variations and long-term trends" and" application to aerosol data assimilation".
